The earliest known inscription in Latin dates to the sixth century B.C. It began to spread between about 250 and 100 BC. To build your knowledge of Latin and to successfully read ancient texts on your own, it is important to study the basics of Latin vocabulary. These Latin I Vocab flash cards have many basic words like "with, “water,” and “are,” which will assist you in becoming a more proficient reader of this ancient language.
To help you study, you might divide your flash cards into categories of associated words. This will help you better remember groups of words, which is an effective way to study.
Likewise, you should study your flash cards beginning with the Latin word and trying to remember the English equivalent. Then study the English definition, and try to remember the Latin word. Studying both ways will help solidify these vocabulary words and their definitions in your mind.
Finally, write these vocabulary words down several times over the course of your study period. Review words you studied each new study period as well to help you remember them.
